DANIEL CHAPTER 6

DAN 6:1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and

twenty princes,

which should be over the whole kingdom; <g darius> <g hundred>

<g kingdom> <g over> <g pleased> <g princes> <g set>

<g should> <g twenty> <g which> <g whole>

DAN 6:2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel [was]

first:that the

princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have

no damage.

<g damage> <g daniel> <g first> <g give> <g have> <g king>

<g might> <g no> <g over> <g presidents> <g princes>

<g should> <g these> <g three> <g whom>

DAN 6:3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and

princes, because

an excellent spirit [was] in him; and the king thought to set

him over the whole

realm. <g because> <g daniel> <g excellent> <g him> <g king>

<g over> <g preferred> <g presidents> <g princes> <g realm>

<g set> <g spirit> <g then> <g this> <g thought> <g whole>

DAN 6:4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion

against Daniel

concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor

fault; forasmuch

as he [was] faithful, neither was there any error or fault found

in him.

<g against> <g any> <g concerning> <g could> <g daniel>

<g error> <g faithful> <g fault> <g find> <g forasmuch>

<g found> <g him> <g kingdom> <g neither> <g none> <g nor>

<g occasion> <g or> <g presidents> <g princes> <g sought>

<g then> <g there>

DAN 6:5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion

against this Daniel,

except we find [it] against him concerning the law of his God.

<g against>

<g any> <g concerning> <g daniel> <g except> <g find>

<g god> <g him> <g law> <g men> <g occasion> <g said>

<g then> <g these> <g this>

DAN 6:6 Then these presidents and princes assembled together to

the king, and said

thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever. <g assembled> <g

darius>

<g ever> <g him> <g king> <g live> <g presidents>

<g princes> <g said> <g then> <g these> <g thus>

<g together>

DAN 6:7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and

the princes, the

counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to

establish a royal

statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a

petition of any

God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be

cast into the den

of lions. <g all> <g any> <g ask> <g captains> <g cast>

<g consulted> <g counsellors> <g days> <g decree> <g den>

<g establish> <g firm> <g god> <g governors> <g have>

<g into> <g king> <g kingdom> <g lions> <g make> <g man>

<g or> <g petition> <g presidents> <g princes> <g royal>

<g save> <g statute> <g thirty> <g together> <g whosoever>

DAN 6:8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing,

that it be not

changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which

altereth not.

<g altereth> <g changed> <g decree> <g establish> <g king>

<g law> <g medes> <g now> <g persians> <g sign> <g which>

<g writing>

DAN 6:9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.

<g darius>

<g decree> <g king> <g signed> <g wherefore> <g writing>

DAN 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he

went into his house;

and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he

kneeled upon his

knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his

God, as he did

aforetime. <g aforetime> <g before> <g being> <g chamber>

<g daniel> <g day> <g did> <g gave> <g god> <g house>

<g into> <g jerusalem> <g kneeled> <g knees> <g knew>

<g now> <g open> <g prayed> <g signed> <g thanks>

<g three> <g times> <g toward> <g went> <g when>

<g windows> <g writing>

DAN 6:11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and

making

supplication before his God. <g assembled> <g before> <g daniel>

<g found> <g god> <g making> <g men> <g praying>

<g supplication> <g then> <g these>

DAN 6:12 Then they came near, and spake before the king

concerning the king's

decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall

ask [a petition]

of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king,

shall be cast into

the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing [is]

true, according to

the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not. <g

altereth>

<g answered> <g any> <g ask> <g before> <g came> <g cast>

<g concerning> <g days> <g decree> <g den> <g every>

<g god> <g hast> <g into> <g king> <g law> <g lions>

<g man> <g medes> <g near> <g or> <g persians>

<g petition> <g said> <g save> <g signed> <g spake>

<g then> <g thing> <g thirty> <g true> <g which>

<g within>

DAN 6:13 Then answered they and said before the king, That

Daniel, which [is]

of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O

king, nor the

decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three

times a day.

<g answered> <g before> <g captivity> <g children> <g daniel>

<g day> <g decree> <g hast> <g judah> <g king> <g maketh>

<g nor> <g petition> <g regardeth> <g said> <g signed>

<g then> <g three> <g times> <g which>

DAN 6:14 Then the king, when he heard [these] words, was sore

displeased with

himself, and set [his] heart on Daniel to deliver him:and he

laboured till the

going down of the sun to deliver him. <g daniel> <g deliver>

<g displeased> <g down> <g going> <g heard> <g heart>

<g him> <g himself> <g king> <g laboured> <g on> <g set>

<g sore> <g sun> <g then> <g these> <g till> <g when>

<g with> <g words>

DAN 6:15 Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto

the king, Know,

O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians [is] , That no

decree nor statute

which the king establisheth may be changed. <g assembled> <g

changed>

<g decree> <g establisheth> <g king> <g know> <g law>

<g may> <g medes> <g men> <g no> <g nor> <g persians>

<g said> <g statute> <g then> <g these> <g which>

DAN 6:16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and

cast [him] into

the den of lions. [Now] the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy

God whom thou

servest continually, he will deliver thee. <g brought> <g cast>

<g commanded> <g continually> <g daniel> <g deliver> <g den>

<g god> <g him> <g into> <g king> <g lions> <g now>

<g said> <g servest> <g spake> <g then> <g whom> <g will>

DAN 6:17 And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the

den; and the king

sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords;

that the purpose

might not be changed concerning Daniel. <g brought> <g changed>

<g concerning> <g daniel> <g den> <g king> <g laid>

<g lords> <g might> <g mouth> <g own> <g purpose>

<g sealed> <g signet> <g stone> <g with>

DAN 6:18 Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night

fasting:neither

were instruments of music brought before him:and his sleep went

from him.

<g before> <g brought> <g fasting> <g him> <g instruments>

<g king> <g music> <g neither> <g night> <g palace>

<g passed> <g sleep> <g then> <g went>

DAN 6:19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went

in haste unto

the den of lions. <g arose> <g den> <g early> <g haste>

<g king> <g lions> <g morning> <g then> <g very> <g went>

DAN 6:20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable

voice unto

Daniel:[and] the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel,

servant of the living

God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver

thee from the

lions? <g came> <g continually> <g cried> <g daniel>

<g deliver> <g den> <g god> <g king> <g lamentable>

<g lions> <g living> <g said> <g servant> <g servest>

<g spake> <g voice> <g when> <g whom> <g with>

DAN 6:21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.

<g daniel>

<g ever> <g king> <g live> <g said> <g then>

DAN 6:22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions'

mouths, that they

have not hurt me:forasmuch as before him innocency was found in

me; and also

before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. <g also> <g angel>

<g before> <g done> <g forasmuch> <g found> <g god>

<g hath> <g have> <g him> <g hurt> <g innocency> <g king>

<g mouths> <g no> <g sent> <g shut>

DAN 6:23 Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded

that they should

take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the

den, and no

manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his

God. <g because>

<g believed> <g commanded> <g daniel> <g den> <g exceeding>

<g found> <g glad> <g god> <g him> <g hurt> <g king>

<g manner> <g no> <g should> <g so> <g take> <g taken>

<g then>

DAN 6:24 And the king commanded, and they brought those men

which had accused

Daniel, and they cast [them] into the den of lions, them, their

children, and

their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake

all their bones in

pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den. <g all> <g

bones>

<g bottom> <g brake> <g brought> <g came> <g cast>

<g children> <g commanded> <g daniel> <g den> <g ever>

<g had> <g into> <g king> <g lions> <g mastery> <g men>

<g or> <g pieces> <g those> <g which> <g wives>

DAN 6:25 Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and

languages, that

dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you. <g all> <g

darius>

<g dwell> <g earth> <g king> <g languages> <g multiplied>

<g nations> <g peace> <g people> <g then> <g wrote>

DAN 6:26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom

men tremble and

fear before the God of Daniel:for he [is] the living God, and

stedfast for ever,

and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed, and his

dominion [shall

be even] unto the end. <g before> <g daniel> <g decree>

<g destroyed> <g dominion> <g end> <g even> <g ever>

<g heaven> <g lions> <g power> <g rescueth> <g signs>

DAN 6:28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in
