:2 Now 1161 -de I praise 1867 -epaineo you, brethren 0080 -
adephos , that ye remember 3415 -mnaomai me in all 3956 -pas
things, and keep 2722 -katecho the ordinances 3862 -paradosis ,
as I delivered 3860 -paradidomi [them] to you.
:3 But I would 2309 -thelo have you know 1492 -eido , that
the head 2776 -kephale of every 3956 -pas man 0435 -aner is
Christ 5547 -Christos ; and the head 2776 -kephale of the woman
1135 -gune [is] the man 0435 -aner ; and the head 2776 -kephale
of Christ 5547 -Christos [is] God 2316 -theos .
:4 Every 3956 -pas man 0435 -aner praying 4336 -
proseuchomai or 2228 -e prophesying 4395 -propheteuo , having
2192 -echo [his] head 2776 -kephale covered 2596 -kata ,
dishonoureth 2617 -kataischuno his head 2776 -kephale .
:5 But every 3956 -pas woman 1135 -gune that prayeth 4336 -
proseuchomai or 2228 -e prophesieth 4395 -propheteuo with [her]
head 2776 -kephale uncovered 0177 -akatakaluptos dishonoureth
2617 -kataischuno her head 2776 -kephale : for that is even 2532
-kai all one 1520 -heis as if she were shaven 3587 -xurao .
:6 For if 1487 -ei the woman 1135 -gune be not covered
2619 -katakalupto , let her also 2532 -kai be shorn 2751 -keiro :
but if 1487 -ei it be a shame 0149 -aischron for a woman 1135 -
gune to be shorn 2751 -keiro or 2228 -e shaven 3587 -xurao , let
her be covered 2619 -katakalupto .
:7 For a man 0435 -aner indeed 3303 -men ought 3784 -
opheilo not to cover 2619 -katakalupto [his] head 2776 -kephale ,
forasmuch as he is the image 1504 -eikon and glory 1391 -doxa
of God 2316 -theos : but the woman 1135 -gune is the glory 1391 -
doxa of the man 0435 -aner .
:8 For the man 0435 -aner is not of the woman 1135 -gune ;
but the woman 1135 -gune of the man 0435 -aner .
:9 Neither 3756 -ou was the man 0435 -aner created 2936 -
ktizo for the woman 1135 -gune ; but the woman 1135 -gune for
the man 0435 -aner .
:10 For this 5124 -touto cause 1223 -dia ought 3784 -
opheilo the woman 1135 -gune to have 2192 -echo power 1849 -
exousia on 1909 -epi [her] head 2776 -kephale because 1223 -dia
of the angels 0032 -aggelos .
:11 Nevertheless 4133 -plen neither 3777 -oute is the man
0435 -aner without 5565 -choris the woman 1135 -gune , neither
3777 -oute the woman 1135 -gune without 5565 -choris the man
0435 -aner , in the Lord 2962 -kurios .
:12 For as the woman 1135 -gune [is] of the man 0435 -aner

theos .
:13 Judge 2919 -krino in yourselves 0846 -autos : is it
comely 4241 -prepo that a woman 1135 -gune pray 4336 -
proseuchomai unto God 2316 -theos uncovered 0177 -akatakaluptos ?
:14 Doth not even 3761 -oude nature 5449 -phusis itself
0846 -autos teach 1321 -didasko you, that, if 1437 -ean a man
0435 -aner have long 2863 -komao hair 2863 -komao , it is a
shame 0819 -atimia unto him?
:15 But if 1437 -ean a woman 1135 -gune have long 2863 -
komao hair 2863 -komao , it is a glory 1391 -doxa to her: for
[her] hair 2864 -kome is given 1325 -didomi her for a covering
4018 -peribolaion .
:16 But if 1487 -ei any 5100 -tis man seem 1380 -dokeo to
be contentious 5380 -philoneikos , we have 2192 -echo no 3756 -
ou such 5108 -toioutos custom 4914 -sunetheia , neither 3761 -
oude the churches 1577 -ekklesia of God 2316 -theos .
:17 Now 1161 -de in this 5124 -touto that I declare 3853 -
paraggello [unto you] I praise 1867 -epaineo [you] not, that ye
come 4905 -sunerchomai together 4905 -sunerchomai not for the
better 2909 -kreitton , but for the worse 2276 -hetton .
:18 For first 4412 -proton of all, when ye come 4905 -

This 5124 -touto cup 4221 -poterion is the new 2537 -kainos
testament 1242 -diatheke in my blood 0129 -haima : this 5124 -
touto do 4160 -poieo ye, as oft 3740 -hosakis as ye drink 4095 -
pino [it], in remembrance 0364 -anamnesis of me.
:26 For as often 3740 -hosakis as ye eat 2068 -esthio this
5126 -touton bread 0740 -artos , and drink 4095 -pino this 5124 -
touto cup 4221 -poterion , ye do shew 2605 -kataggello the
Lord's 2962 -kurios death 2288 -thanatos till 3757 -hou he come
2064 -erchomai .
:27 Wherefore 5620 -hoste whosoever 0302 -an shall eat
2068 -esthio this 5126 -touton bread 0740 -artos , and drink
4095 -pino [this 5126 -touton ] cup 4221 -poterion of the Lord
2962 -kurios , unworthily 0371 -anaxios , shall be guilty 1777 -
enochos of the body 4983 -soma and blood 0129 -haima of the Lord
2962 -kurios .
:28 But let a man 0444 -anthropos examine 1381 -dokimazo
himself 1438 -heautou , and so 3779 -houto let him eat 2068 -
esthio of [that] bread 0740 -artos , and drink 4095 -pino of
[that] cup 4221 -poterion .
:29 For he that eateth 2068 -esthio and drinketh 4095 -
pino unworthily 0371 -anaxios , eateth 2068 -esthio and drinketh
4095 -pino damnation 2917 -krima to himself 1438 -heautou , not
discerning 1252 -diakrino the Lord's 2962 -kurios body 4983 -
soma .
:30 For this 5124 -touto cause 1223 -dia many 4183 -polus
[are] weak 0770 -astheneo and sickly 0732 -arrhostos among 1722 -
en you, and many 2425 -hikanos sleep 2837 -koimao .
:31 For if 1487 -ei we would judge 1252 -diakrino
ourselves 1438 -heautou , we should not be judged 2919 -krino .
:32 But when we are judged 2919 -krino , we are chastened
3811 -paideuo of the Lord 2962 -kurios , that we should not be
condemned 2632 -katakrino with the world 2889 -kosmos .
:33 Wherefore 5620 -hoste , my brethren 0080 -adephos ,
when ye come 4905 -sunerchomai together 4905 -sunerchomai to eat
5315 -phago , tarry 1551 -ekdechomai one 0240 -allelon for
another 0240 -allelon .
:34 And if 1487 -ei any 5100 -tis man hunger 3983 -peinao ,
let him eat 2068 -esthio at 1722 -en home 3624 -oikos ; that ye
come 4905 -sunerchomai not together 4905 -sunerchomai unto
condemnation 2917 -krima . And the rest 3062 -loipoy will I set
