 1. The elder <4245-presbuteros-> unto the wellbeloved <0027-

 2 Beloved <0027-agapetos->, I wish <2172-euchomai-> above <4012-

peri-> all <3956-pas-> things that thou mayest prosper <2137-

euodoo-> and be in health <5198-hugiaino->, even <2531-kathos->

as thy soul <5590-psuche-> prospereth <2137-euodoo->.

 3. For I rejoiced <5463-chairo-> greatly <3029-lian->, when the

brethren <0080-adephos-> came <2064-erchomai-> and testified

<3140-martureo-> of the truth <0225-aletheia-> that is in thee,

even <2531-kathos-> as thou walkest <4043-peripateo-> in the

truth <0225-aletheia->.

 4 I have <2192-echo-> no <3756-ou-> greater <3186-meizoteros->

joy <5479-chara-> than to hear <0191-akouo-> that my children

<5043-teknon-> walk <4043-peripateo-> in truth <0225-aletheia->.

 5 Beloved <0027-agapetos->, thou doest <4160-poieo-> faithfully

<4103-pistos-> whatsoever <1437-ean-> thou doest <4160-poieo->

to the brethren <0080-adephos->, and to strangers <3581-xenos->;

 6 Which <3739-hos-> have borne witness <3140-martureo-> of thy

ekklesia->: whom <3739-hos-> if thou bring <4311-propempo->

forward <4311-propempo-> on their journey after <0516-axios-> a

godly <2316-theos-> sort <0516-axios->, thou shalt do <4160-

 7 Because <1063-gar-> that for his name's <3686-onoma-> sake

they went <1831-exerchomai-> forth <1831-exerchomai->, taking

<2983-lambano-> nothing <3367-medeis-> of the Gentiles <1484-

ethnos->.

 8 We therefore <3767-oun-> ought <3784-opheilo-> to receive

fellowhelpers <4904-sunergos-> to the truth <0225-aletheia->.

 9. I wrote <1125-grapho-> unto the church <1577-ekklesia->: but

Diotrephes <1361-Diotrephes->, who <3588-ho-> loveth <5383-

philoproteuo-> to have the preeminence <5383-philoproteuo->

among <1722-en-> them, receiveth <1926-epidechomai-> us not.

 10 Wherefore <3739-hos->, if <1437-ean-> I come <2064-erchomai-

>, I will remember <5279-hupomimnesko-> his deeds <2041-ergon->

which <3739-hos-> he doeth <4160-poieo->, prating <5396-phluareo-

> against <5396-phluareo-> us with malicious <4190-poneros->

 11 Beloved <0027-agapetos->, follow <3401-mimeomai-> not that

which is evil <2556-kakos->, but that which is good <0018-

agathos->. He that doeth <0015-agathopoieo-> good <0015-

agathopoieo-> is of God <2316-theos->: but he that doeth <2554-

kakopoieo-> evil <2554-kakopoieo-> hath not seen <3780-ouchi->

God <2316-theos->.

 12. Demetrius <1216-Demetrios-> hath good report <3140-martureo-

> of all <3956-pas-> [men], and of the truth <0225-aletheia->

itself <0846-autos->: yea <1161-de->, and we [also <2532-kai->]

bear record <3140-martureo->; and ye know <1492-eido-> that our

record <3141-marturia-> is true <0227-alethes->.

 13 I had <2192-echo-> many <4183-polus-> things to write <1125-

grapho->, but I will <2309-thelo-> not with ink <3188-melan->

and pen <2563-kalamos-> write <1125-grapho-> unto thee:

 14 But I trust <1679-elpizo-> I shall shortly <2112-eutheos->

see <1492-eido-> thee, and we shall speak <2980-laleo-> face

<4750-stoma-> to face <4750-stoma->. Peace <1515-eirene-> [be]

to thee. [Our] friends <5384-philos-> salute <0782-aspazomai->

thee. Greet <0782-aspazomai-> the friends <5384-philos-> by name
